Default New concert announcement

Just found out that Chris Isaak is coming into town.

What's he going to sing? Didn't he have like one song?

Who's next? Chris de Burgh? Christopher Cross?

Whoa, Babs. Chris Isaak has some great stuff. That would be a good concert.

Really? All I can think of is wicked game. Which is a great song, but not quite enough to carry a concert.

She's just pissed Huey Lewis won't be in Norman any time soon.

Isaak is a bay area guy and is still popular here. He puts on a pretty good show, and he has a number of good tunes, but his personality is a little quirky. I assure you he would be better than DeBurgh and Cross (tenors never keep their chops as they age).

sure. make fun of the guy that gave us the Heart of Rock and Roll.

BTW, Chris is not touring alone. He's coming with some guy named Stevey Hicks.

Are you sure it isn't Stevie Nicks, a former alto and now scratchy baritone?

Indeed.

They are touring together this summer and playing at the Oklahoma City Zoo. I'm not making that up.

Sheesh. That reminds me of one of my favorite scenes in Spinal Tap.

Saw him in concert a few summers ago at The Gateway into downtown SLC. I was actually going for one of the opening bands The Young Dubliners, cause I only really knew the popular Wicked Game song he did.

Much too my surprise he put on an excellent show and I knew a lot more of his songs that I thought I would.

I've his greatest hits CD. I'd see him in concert again.
