Default 2005 Honda Accord or 2004 Volvo S80

I think the smarter purchase may be the Accord, but the Volvo seems to be more of a fun ride. I've never had a 'fun' car before and I'm itching to pull the trigger.

The only realy downside to the Accord, is that I already drive and Accord and that's boring to me. The Volvo is a pretty cool looking car and it drives awesome.. less expensive than the Accord, but more miles.. it's also more expensive to fix.

The BYU license plates will look good on both cars, but will look better on the S80 in my opinion. Yes, that's part of the consideration..

Here are the 2 options.

Fuddy Duddy? Is that a Texas candy bar? Also, I've been told to do the opposite of what SU says.. so I'm leaning more towards the S80 I guess..

I'm looking for something similar in the near future, though I am willing to spend a bit more. I haven't test driven anything yet but what seems appealing to me in my range is a 2-3 year old Acura TL.

I am thinking of also trying out a new Mercury Milan. I think its the same frame as the Mazda6.

I LOVE the TL... it's a sweet car.. especially 2004 and newer. cool body style. the Mazda 6 is a really great car as well. if I was in your price range i'd love to get the TL.

DRiving a Volvo is like driving a Corvette. It's an aggresive, in your face statement about yourself. If you want to project yourself in a way that will make much of the world dislike you go ahead. I'm sure some will think more highly about you but it's a risk. Driving a Volvo is never a politically neutral act.

I have the Consumer Reports 2008 auto issue that I bought in the airport recently and am about to throw away. If you want it, send me your address and I'll drop it in the mail.

honestly, among the circles i run in, i don't think anybody cares what car i drive. the only one who really cares is myself. so if i do pull the trigger on the volvo, it will be because it's different than my very common honda accord, it's nicer, and it's in a price range i'm comfortable with.
