Default NBA players and national anthem protests

I get the feeling that when all the data came out about dropping TV ratings for the NFL, suddenly the NBA players felt a lot less motivated to protest the national anthem.

I think it was in the late 90s that the NBA was really struggling, and the commissioner instituted a lot of rules that were designed (in my opinion) to improve the NBA's image with white fans.

I think one of the things they did was have a dress code for players on the bench not suited up. I'd have to go back and look up the exact details.

This year one of the African-Am baseball players was asked why baseball players were not similarly protesting, and he said it was because baseball is a white sport.

Just looked it up: http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports...port/90260326/
