Default I have been "discriminated" against by multi-generational Mormons

because of my background.

I sure look and act the part ... (blonde, white as a lily, RM, married in the temple, etc.). So I have had more than one experience where someon believes that I am "one of them" and when they find out I am a convert who grew up in foster care / group homes, etc. their attitude completely changes.

Are they idiots? Of course.

But to consider such a thing "racist" would be laughable.

Well, that's because you are using the wrong word. They are bigots who can't see past their cultural tropes.

Did the church know this when they hired you? They may want to beef up security so that they can keep "your type" out.

My neighbor (Latino) claimed the ward was racist because at a ward party someone "refused" to shake his hand.

And then Anglos call both Dominicans and Puerto Ricans "Latino", but the Dominicans (mostly black) and Puerto Ricans (not nearly as many black) have racist problems with each other at least in part due to skin color.
