We all know that after their first two seasons, BM was slightly more successful than KW in every category except for bowl wins.
However, today, what is more important: 2011 or 2005? Let's toss out the first 30 games and restrict the same data to the most recent 50 games, to put greater emphasis on the current and most recent state of affairs:

Overall Record
BM: 37-13
KW: 42-8

vs. MWC Teams
BM: 24-6
KW: 26-4

vs. non-MWC Teams
BM: 13-7
KW: 16-4

vs. BCS Teams (including Notre Dame)
BM: 7-5
KW: 8-3

Bowl Games
BM: 3-1
KW: 3-1

Head to Head
BM: 2
KW: 3

In these twelve categories, BM outperformed KW in only one of them: vs. MWC teams when including 2005 and 2006. That's all. Would you like me to keep going?

Record vs. TCU
BM: 2-4
KW: 3-3

Win/Loss Record of Bowl Opponents
BM: 41-30
KW: 54-18
...
Nice...chopping up the data. Wait till I still a multiple regression up your yewt.

I'm sorry, I don't understand what matters more than the actual won/loss record, when claiming that "BM outperformed KW." Here you have it in the conference, out of the conference, and vs BCS teams, what more is there? Would you have preferred a third series that restricted the data even more than over the past 50 games? The past 25 games? It would have been more of the same. KW wasn't the coach who went 7-6 last year.

Heh. Someone's gotten under ute4ever's skin...

It's too bad you're pro-Obama, Chino. It'd be nice to have you on our side.

After BYU's win last night, I'm finally ready to handle the emotion of the Utah beatdown.

Here's a little video compilation we put together:

Nice work Utie. Since you are so zealous why don't you provide the following information on a spreadsheet for every game on rows that Whit and Bronco coached?

Margin of Victory
Opponent
Final Sagarin Predictor Ranking of Opponent
Home/Away (code "1" for home, "0" for neutral, -1 for away)
Coach (code 1 for Whit, 0 for Bronco)
Year

Format it like this

MOV Team Opponent OppSag Home Coach Year

14 Utah Alabama 6 0 1 2008
24 Utah BYU 26 1 1 2008
-24 BYU Utah 10 -1 0 2008
1 BYU Oklahoma 8 0 0 2009

If you can put together such a dataset and show that Kyle has done better you win the day.

That sounds fun Chino, entering 160 games into a spreadsheet, line by line? So much fun in fact, I'll let you do it yourself. There's just something about seeing KW with his Sugar Bowl ring and PAC-12 polos, coming off of a 44-point beatdown of BM, currently a 6.5 point favorite over 3-1 Washington, that makes your argument no more than tinkling cymbals and sounding brass. It's no secret that BM has a worse record than KW against ranked teams, non-BCS teams, and overall. Which means the crux of your argument is that BM RUTS against New Mexico and UNLV, and somehow that proves him superior on a phantom overall scale.

At first I thought you were just trolling, but honestly now I feel bad for you, so persistently kicking against the pricks. BYU is no different than UVSC; both are mid-majors from Utah County who recently tried to get into the WAC but failed. So just stop already. Let it go. I feel like I'm watching a has-been in a skeleton costume chase the Karate Kid around a high school gym.

Solve my nonlinear differential equations for me and I'd be more than happy to do it.
