Default Concept2 rower

Have used them in gyms, had wanted one of my own. It turns out that they are pretty hard to find used. And when they are available, they sell for very close to the retail price. With the crossfit craze, there is a high demand for them. And they are truly one of the most elegant things out there that you can get.

Mine arrived yesterday. A snap to put together. Just 8 bolts and a hex wrench. And now it's time to get to work.

My goal is to join the 1 million meter club. And beyond that my goal is to lose some weight and get in better shape.

1000 meters last night. Just need to do that 1,000 more times and I'll be 1 million meters.

I love rowing. I usually row 500-1000m before my crossfit WOD.

That's 3-5 minutes of rowing.

A lady I work with did competitive rowing in college. She has an erg (concept2). She told me that I was doing it all wrong. That I should go with a resistance of 4 and do about 20 strokes per minute. She was completely correct. You can get a very good workout doing that. Essentially you are doing less reps, but you are more explosive in your rep, with a longer relaxation phase.

I started rowing again at Thanksgiving, after rowing none in 2014 before that, and only 6000 meters in 2013. 29,000 meters since Thanksgiving. 58,000 lifetime meters. I'm a long ways from 1,000,000 meters!

Goal is 100,000 meters before Christmas. Then concept will make a $2 donation to fight world hunger.
