Default European racism

I thought this was an interesting story on European racism and soccer.

Some of the most overtly racist people I've ever encountered are the enlightened secularists of Europe.

As Seattle would say "Speaks volumes".

There is a lot more racism in Europe than here. I'd go so far as to say Europe makes the U.S. appear perfectly tolerant. I discussed this very subject recently with a friend of mine from Greece. He told me the racism at European soccer games was unbelievable. I agree with the theory that Muslims have more of an edge in Europe and there has been more terrorism there because they become assimilated in the U.S. to a much greater degree as the U.S. is such a big tent. Is this surprising? Which continent has fought repeated wars essentially all about racism killing maybe 100 million people?

Default No.

No this is all wrong. Don't believe it. Europe is much more enlightened than we are, a shining example to us.

That's what I said. Not in those words, but the point was the same.

In Europe, muslims are isolated and not part of the fabric of each country but rather shoved to the side.

In the US, which actually blends cultures together, Muslims are accepted as part of our country, so they are not as radical.

In part, I agree, but Seattle is forgetting to state one part of it, we also receive the wealthiest segment of Islam. We don't have the ultra poor Muslims immigrating, but rather those coming here for advanced education. Europe's immigrants are the ultra poor, the disillusioned.

Dont see the case exactly as you described it. actually living in europe (precisely England) would cost them much more as i have had some friends telling me so.
various Islamic centers and some mega mosques could oppose with what you mentioned as " muslims being shoved to the side"
on the other part ,wealthy Islam seems to have more tolerance to what the west have provided as co-existance culture.
Wahabis ,the ones with the most money in hands have been pretty much functioning in the west and better welcome than shia islam i suppose.

i dont think West would actually have any difficulty with the sort of islam ,american muslims are practicing out there ,if you know what i mean.
