Wow, I don't hate either one. If the poll is going to be used to determine whether we should be pulling for Utah or UCLA in the game Sat., I am pulling for Utah. The club I belong to (MWC), always comes first.

My olSIN hate went down significantly since Saturday. It is morphing into sympathy. I kind of feel bad for the guy.

As for the Utes, sorry IPU and the rest of the Ute Fans here, but you have so many frUTE Fans that carry so much BYU hate that I must respond in kind.

I don't hate the Utes as a team, I hate a certain class of Ute fans - those that exhibit a set of personality traits I defined as "Uteness".

IPU's Uteness Score is fairly low. Mr. Crimson's is fairly high. All the kids I went to high school with (East High in SLC - a breeding ground for the festering disease of Uteness), my Ute fan lawyer neighbor across the street, my socialist lawyer brother in law, anybody that still runs around wearing a "Utah by 5" t-shirt - all have a higher than average Uteness Score.

I agree with this.

I voted for Utah because I am impartial to BO. I don't really "hate" Utah either... just my dislike for some Utah fans is greater than my dislike for BO.

I feel so bad for both. The state of affairs that Utah finds itself is indeed heart wrenching.

However, I reserve the right to use the words of Ute fans with respect to BYU against them. Many said things when they were feeling invinicible that I believe they probably wish now they had not. I enjoy reminiscing on those exuberant outbursts today.

Once it became apparant that Max Hall was a better qb, Ben Olson really became a totally pointless issue to me. His actions were no longer detrimental to BYU as BYU came out of the deal better off than they would have been with Ben, in fact I am now grateful.

I'm interpreting this as "football smack" hate, not "thou shalt not" type of hate. So I went with the Utes.
