Red Sox Nation is considerably less fun and much more annoying since we won the dang thing. I've been a Sox fan for years (not die hard enough to know all the stats, but enough to have "Bucky 'bleepin' Dent" and "Bill F. Buckner" in my vocabulary) as part of my heritage (dad/grandparents/aunts/uncles all from Beantown, and I'm sometimes told I have a faint Boston accent, despite the fact I've never lived there). For so many years, the curse was our identity. The endless futility defined us as a group. That's all gone now, and in it's place are the same bandwaggoners that just want to sleep with a winner.

Game 7 was one of the better games I've seen for 6 1/2 innings. Pedroia came up huge and that catch by Crisp to end the game was one of the nicest I've seen in a while. Here's to hoping the Rockies have cooled off since they clinched a WS berth.

I love Pedroia because he embodies what I like about baseball: the fact that completely undersized guys have a fighting chance.

It was also nice to see that Crisp can contribute in some small way. He sure wasn't doing it from the plate.

Which brings us to Ellsbury, another great young prospect in the organization. He really stepped up replacing the completely ineffective Crisp the past couple nights.

Hey, he had that bunt. I don't think you can ask him to do much more, like field his position or anything.

Another great game tonight with Schilling managing to pull one last good playoff performance out of his old arm. Okajima was nails.

Mainly though I'm stoked that Ellsbury stole a base tonight, earning every red blooded American a free Taco Bell Taco on Oct. 30th between the hours of 2 and 5pm.

That long layoff hurt Colorado more than I thought it would.

You can have my free taco. I hate Taco Bell.

Yes it was.

Boston just came up with some clutch hitting when they needed it in the middle innings and Halliday getting picked off just seemed to crush Colorado's spirit.

I think the Rockies will get it together for game 3 at home, but if they don't win game 4, it's all over.
