our situation was complicated by the fact that I had already left BYU and my girlfriend (now my wife) was still at BYU. So we basically got engaged over the phone......

Met in Oct. 91 at a singles branch activity playing volleyball. Began dating immediately. Exclusively dating by Dec. 91.
Engaged Dec. 92
Married June 93

I'm of the firm opinion that one should at least have known his prospective mate through each of the four seasons before tying the knot.

I made it through 8 years of BYU single, so, of course, I met my wife a couple of weeks after graduation (approximately May 1996), our first date was in December 1996, we got engaged in February 1997, and married in May 1997.

Still married, so I guess it worked out okay.

I got through 6 years of BYU wo getting engaged(not that there weren't girls who didn't try to get me to) then I met my wife in a singles ward here in TX 2 or 3 years after moving. We dated for 2 years and were engaged for 2 months.

Default Looks like Mike and I have something in common.

Met/first date October 1996

Engaged July 1998

Married March 1999

First date was a Utah football game. Back then you could get in for free and I assumed that she would bring her student ID and get a free ticket. She didn't and had to buy her own. Also, there was a ton of snow that game (late October early snow) and she was freezing. Because I was a dope and didn't think I would need any money, she ended up buying hot chocolate for both of us.

In spite of my being a totally ninny, we were pretty much inseparable from then on. The delay between first date and marriage had mainly to do with her being 18 when we met (I was 21) and both of us thinking that was just way too young.

In the end a roughly 2 1/2 year courthship was perfect for us.

Met March, 1989.

Engaged September, 1989.

Married March, 1990.

I met my wife the night I decided to go with some friends to a Church dance and laugh at the losers who would go to those dances.

Obviously, the purpose of those dances worked in my case.
