An otherwise decent talk yesterday
had to go and read "Footprints in the Sand."
What's up with that? |

There was a talk in my ward marred by "the geese taking turns at the point."

What? Everyone has to express their feelings about The Gospel to your liking? You should suggest to the Bishop that all drafts for talks be approved by you first. Your ward obviously needs more censorship.

We heard "The Touch of the Master's Hand" (the one about the violin) a few weeks ago. I actually kind of like that poem (embarrassing, I know) but it has been used so much I have never used it in a talk and probably never would.
If I ever did use a poem or story that has been so beaten into the ground from the pulpit, I would preface it with "I know everyone has heard this before, but I would like to read................." |
