The trial lawyers are going to be fine.
More than fine. We are entering a golden age.
Last time they tripled the size of the Federal Register (CERCLA, RCRA, etc.) we saw the age of the big law firms arise quickly. I heard on NPR a democrat jubilantly announce "the age of regulation" upon us. Every time Sarbanes Oxley or such passes, we get calls galore. Democrats are friends of the trial lawyers. If a bailout doesn't pass, we'll be needed to clean up the wreckage and help apportion fault and the remains. A beautiful mess. Creative destruction.

I've got to say, one of the beauties of our profession is that it is more or less recession proof.
