Yeah, Monet was the one who went blind. Eventually he was just painting blurs. The guy had an amazing fascination with Japanese woodblock prints.

Religion rises inevitably from our apprehension of our own death. To give meaning to meaninglessness is the endless quest of all religion. When death becomes the center of our consciousness, then religion authentically begins. Of all religions that I know, the one that most vehemently and persuasively defies and denies the reality of death is the original Mormonism of the Prophet, Seer and Revelator, Joseph Smith.

This discussion has degenerated rather quickly into the sort of thing that should be avoided in discssing these topics. Rocky, as you know, I disapporved of Archaea's approach to you on this topic and told him so. Your approach is just as inappropirate, albeit in different ways, than his, IMO. AA is correct that youir message, with which I frequently agree, is getting lost in your method.

I don't know if [Boyd K. Packer] will outlive [Thomas S. Monson] to become prophet.
Here are their ages in rank of authority:

Hinckley 96
Monson 79
Packer 82
Perry 84
Faust 86
Nelson 82
Oaks 74
Ballard 78
Wirthlin 89
Scott 78
Hales 74
Holland 66
Eyring 73
Uchtdorf 66
Bednar 54

Given Monson's size, I would assume Packer is in better health.

Look, you want to call it as you see it, that's fine. Non Sequitur certainly does a lot of that, but he manages to do it in a way that both expresses his point of view and does not mock our views. Heck, I even manage to learn from him from time to time.

The only problem with your approach is that you don't care at all how others take what you say. What purpose do you have in saying it, if you are not trying to encourage others to lead a better life? I think it is very helpful to have somebody who can call us out when we're off track, for whatever reason, but if you can't do it in the spirit of brotherhood and the interest of mutual benefit, you're not doing any good for yourself or anybody else here.

I think you've got an important message, but it's getting lost amongst the fire and vitrol. Don't do that to yourself.
I know this is a broken record, but I don't care if you approve of how I say it or not. I'm not seeking approval from church authorities on how I speak my mind, just as none of you do. I do lots of good for myself all the time, but thanks for your amateur psychology lesson.

The message isn't lost as you've made it clear you agree with it, you just don't agree with how I express it. Get over it.

If your message is that you reserve the right to be an ass when you post then you're right, it's not lost at all.

Eyring is 73? He looks more like a guy in his 50's.

I reserve to be however I want whenever and however I want to whomever I want and if in your mind that makes me ass....then that tells me all the more that I'm right. Especially if you're getting into the debate, lol.

What's that supposed to mean? I've never said anything negative about Packer.

I never said you said anything about Packer. You chose to interject yourself into the discussion, so my comment about that was pretty obvious. You're a smart guy (I think) so figure it out.
