The story of the guy he chased down is a little more involved than that, I believe. The rider had been accused by Lance of being a cheat and so the rider caused an actiojn to be instituted against lance in the courts (their system is different than ours) and this pissed Lance off. So he then woudl not allow the break to leave until this guy was out of it. This is from memory, however, and so it could be wrong. Either way, it shows that Lance was Le Patron in the way Hinault and others had been in the past. There is no Patron this year. It also shows that Lance is a warrior,as you say. It only tangentially suggests that he was a druggie, however.
Your memory echoes mine.

Lance may have cheated, but if he did so, he may have done so in training and then backed off during racing. Perhaps all racers dope during training but some carry it on into race season.

Lance was competitive as hell, and often that transfers to being a jerk. I can see that in him.

Interesting point. Delgado is one of those that Lemond has talked abotu before and maybe he did bring it out. He was a flaky dude, remember the time he showed up late to the starthouse for a ITT? Who does that?

creekster, I dont want to argue with you because I think you have a nice body.

We disagree. Let's leave it at that because this is not going anywhere.

So you're good at snarky remarks about modern culture, but you're out of your league in analyzing cycling. Stick to matters with which you're familiar please.

The cheaters in cycling must be very sneaky and their timing is very tricky. That's why I believe it's cleaner as it has a more rigorous testing than other sports with which I'm familiar. And only five percent of the peloton is affected. This is not a tip of the iceberg thing.

I am not analyzing cycling. I dont think I have said a single thing about the course, who is the best climber, which team has the best riders, etc..

I am talking about doping....baseball, cycling, whatever.

How do you know that 5% is not the tip of the iceberg? By definition, the tip is only going to be a small number.

My prediction.....more riders will be busted during this race.

Also that time he tested postive and the look of guilt on his face. He got away with it because the substance wasn't banned at the time but he was feared for a few years there.

Talking of Spanish guys using I'd like to see how Rafael Nadal would do in a drug test.
