How many votes were needed to pass?

You and Barney Frank ought to get together with your calculators and figure that out.

Again, evidently the Dems are not in charge of this process. Ie, too many Democratic "mavericks".

Entering unchartered waters agreeing with Brother Ex. Prior to the vote, Pelosi pontificated a vitriolic diatribe against Bush/GOP. Great timing bitch. Having a hard time today identifying the true Anti-Christ. Can there be more than one?

A shadow of things to come when Obama takes over?

Of all religions that I know, the one that most vehemently and persuasively defies and denies the reality of death is the original Mormonism of the Prophet, Seer and Revelator, Joseph Smith.

out is that it was a case of divine intervention. No normal human could have come up with that strategy.

Here's what's funny about this whole thread - Republicans are trying to pin the blame on 90-something Dems that voted against, but there were 120+ Reps that also shot it down.

And McCain is trying to lay the blame at the feet of Obama.

So, our hero suspends his campaign, throws himself into the fray in DC to save the nation, then when it doesn't work out, blames Obama & the Dem leadership, while more Republicans than Democrats shot it down.

Classic...

But it does expose that McCain wasn't out to "save" the nation, was simply maneuvering politically.

C'mon Ma'ake - Dems control the house. 90+ of them voted against the bailout which came up 13 votes short. It's not that hard to see that the Dems did it to themselves.

Were Dems involved in the downfall? You bet. But considering both McCain & Bush were pushing this, and that fewer Dems jumped ship than Republicans, doesn't this also land on the laps of the GOP? (And by extension, McCain, Bush, et al)

Or, put a different way, Obama had better control of the Dems than McCain did the GOP.

(Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to stuff some cash in a shoebox to take to the bomb shelter out back.)
