Saw that as a young lad on a flight. Apparently the airline version wasn't really the airline version.

Even UtahDan has to be questioning her abilities by now.
Ha! When did I become a Palin defender? I'm just a scoffer at the idea that she is stupid. That doesn't mean I want her elected.

Sadly, I don't pay that much attention to the Supreme Court either. I had to stop and ask myself what others I could name. Brown v. Board came quickly to mind, but all the other ones I know are the ones I use all the time: Terry, Wong Sun, Crawford, etc. Not ones that any politician would care about.

I know vaguely that there was a "taking" case that people were fired up about a few years ago.

What are the Supreme Court cases that you think politician ought to have on the tips of their tongues? That isn't a sarcastic question, I'm genuinely curious.

Not many. But she should be able to name at least Brown v. Board of Education, Miranda v. Arizona, U.S. v. Nixon, Marbury v. Madison, Plessy v. Ferguson. Any educated person should be able to name these. They should be part of the U.S. Citizenship exam.

That interview makes no sense. It looks like Dad is trotting his daughter in for an Parent-Teacher meeting with the teacher who was rude to her in front of the whole class. Palin almost looks like she's slouching in the chair. Though Palin has been bad, McCain's media team has been equally incompetent.

Why haven't they had her on with friendly media for the past month, building her confidence and speaking to the base? If CBS is really keeping the Supreme Court segment for a later date, then why are they going back on Couric's show? Hell, why haven't they had ESPN do an interview with Barry Melrose or that wacky hockey guy with the colorful suits?

Outside of the "landmark" cases, as a conservative, I would hope some of the more recent cases might come to mind. The "taking" case you are referring to is Kelo. Others: Lawrence. Hamdan. Roper, and it's more recent corollary, Kennedy. Boy Scouts vs. Dale.

These are cases covering critical constitutional questions. I don't even care if she knows the names, so long as she can identify the issues and the ruling.
