On the way to work this morning I was listening to the political experts saying how the main target audience for the debates is the independents. McCain has never been about winning the base. Palin is on board to keep them in line while he reaches out to the indecisives.

Also, the debate brought up another pet peeve of mine. If a person is in line to have their finger on the button, he/she should at least know how to pronounce "nuclear". Even my kids were cringing and laughing each time she said "nucular weaponry". How do you go through all the preparation for a debate and miss this?

I just heard Victor Davis Hanson, Stanford PhD and renowned academic, say "nucular" twice in an interview with Hugh Hewitt.

I wonder if Lebowski's neck is long enough to permit him to look down his nose at Hanson too.
