This is like arguing over whether it is better to be shot 10 times or 11 times.

Bush's term isnt even over.

There are 2.5 more months left in which more bedrock financial insitutions can fail. Bush's Presidential Library is going to be sweet. Esp the wing dedicated to the final year of his second term. That one will be a barn-burner.

I've said a couple of times that Bush will likely be remembered as a very average president (perhaps sub-average, depending on how Iraq ultimately comes out).

But there's no way he touches last-century administrations like Hoover, LBJ, and Carter. That's nothing but brainless emotion speaking, like back when Republicans were calling Clinton the "worst President ever." Ha.

I agree with this. I simply am saying he is a lousy president.

I get no charge out of determining who was worst. Not even sure there is any way to measure that metric.

As a citizen, I would prefer that every President did an excellent job, regardless of party affiliation. There may be policy disagreements, but as a whole, if each President left the country in as good as or better shape than when he entered office, I would be thrilled.

W did not pass that basic litmus test. Nor did Carter.

Reagan did. Clinton did.

James K. Freaking Polk did, too!

Sometimes that's not within the President's power.

Yes, I realize it is overly simplistic. It doesnt take into account Senate, HOR, etc...

Ok, I'm depressed, so this may be a tad hyperbolic.

Obama is a hard left guy. He's not going to moderate, he's gonna strike while the iron is hot and try to ram New Deal II down our throats. If the dems get a 60 seat senate majority, look out. America may be fundamentally changed as a result. The idea of limited government, free markets, individualism, currently tenuous, may be wiped out. The dream of turning the U.S. into a limp dicked European style socialist nation is finally within their grasp. Look for "rights" to a job, healthcare, housing, etc. Guns? Gone.

It's not hyperbole if it's true. And I think you hit the nail on the head here. Obama is a far leftist and should the current house leadership remain, there is nothing to stop him from turning the US into France.

I call it like I see it, DDD.

I pray that I'm wrong, but there is nothing in his rhetoric nor in his political platform that tells me he is not a socialist.

They were cheering Bush on as he turned the America and the world into his sandbox. I understand why they particularly don't expect restraint from Obama.
