Haven't read it but his podcast (the one describing one of his other books) was really good.

I'm a few chapters in. I haven't read enough to give a review. But overall it seems like a good resource from an apologetics viewpoint. I note that it talked about what I observed in the "Breaking the Maya Code" documentary, that the Mayan had a character that meant essentially "it happened" or "it came to pass." He specifically references Coe. It comes across as intelligently going through the internal content and structure of the Book of Mormon to see what that tells us about its culture. For example, the last part of what I read was about how Lehi may have been a refugee from Israel (and Judea) and viewed the Judean reforms before the Babylonian destruction to have been an apostasy of sorts (these reforms are the basis for our Christian conception of the Old Testament today). That's just an example of the kind of thing he discusses.
