Default BYU vs. Virginia game thread

I guess this game was originally scheduled for ESPNU and was bumped over to ESPN?

Anyway, it is on ESPN. Hopefully a great showing by the Cougars tomorrow.

I saw a hilarious tweet from Jay Drew, saying that he asked the WR coach why Apo wasn't playing more. Does Jay watch the games?

Was surprising how effective the Virginia offense was.

Virginia defensive front was very good as well.

That long touchdown completion by Taysom was nice. Wonder why he can't do that more, like Manziel did. Move around with his feet and find guys improvising downfield. Detmer did this as well, but more Romo-esque, moving around in the pocket.

Entertaining game. But the team still doesn't pass a top 4 smell test. Which is not a knock on the team. It still looks like we could have a special season. But if we lose a single game, it all comes crashing down.

I think we can give up Hill for Heisman at this point. Best case scenario is that he gets invited to the ceremony. And this would build for a senior-year Heisman campaign in full force if he stays for another year. We saw evidence of a lot of his inaccuracy in this game.

Will not be good if Jordan Leslie has to sit out games. He's been our most effective receiver.

What's up with our corners being in good position, and then mugging receivers, getting us PI penalties?

Jamaal Williams was a beast. I love how he runs. Such determination. If we have to go back to handing off to Poly fullbacks that would be bad. Lasike has never made a single person miss. Nor has he run past a single person.

Hine was due to run one back. He's had so many long runs and so many called back.

This team is not top four worthy, due to overall lack of speed burners.

It is a very good team, and a NY6 bowl would be a worthy goal. We still have plenty of games where BYU could stumble. Oregon almost stumbled against WSU which lost to Nevada. Winning out is very difficult.

UCF and Boise are dangerous. Cal could be dangerous.

Leslie will be okay for USU.

Bronson comes back and he is needed to apply better pressure.
Kurtz is needed to add speed.

Williams is special and runs hard, and low to the ground.
