New theory re penalty/blocked kick
Were it not for the penalty BYU couldn't have sent the whole team for the block. It would have had to account for risk of a 2 point conversion. 15 yards closer in and the whole complexion is different.

I think a fake kick and bootleg by the quarterback/holder was the winning play. We were all saying that before we realized the flag.

There's only one problem with your theory, well, two actually:
1. The whole team didn't block the field goal, one guy did. 2. The guy that blocked it wouldn't have been doing anything different if the ball were on the 2 yard line, the 1/2 inch line, or the 50 yard line. |

it was basically the exact same play....with the same result. I like to think that somewhere, someplace....Bruce Davis shed a few more tears this past Saturday afternoon...

Not a new theory. I've seen it several times since the postgame show. The UW kicker even mentioned that he thought the reason it was blocked is that the O-line had to deal with more rushers than normal--not as an excuse, but that they just weren't used to it.

Judging by that last drive, a few other things UW does not practice
1. WR catching a pass while being left wide open 2. QB throwing a pass to a wide open receiver 3. Holding onto passes once they are in your hands

Learn some football friend before you post again. That's okay, put down Today's Ballet and learn what we plebeians watch.

So when you call it a new theory, you mean new to us becasue you were aware of it since discussing it with your four year old at the game? DO you always keep the best stuff to yourself?
