Incredible. Being a foster child can be just plain hell on earth. It's terrible.

Sad... too many parents getting involved in drugs and such, mistreating their kids, which then stresses the foster care system to the max.

Because my wife works in a program to help get foster care kids adopted I know that a social worker is supposed to visit each foster care family at least once a month, and they should be able to get info about such maltreatment from the kids eventually, even if the parents themselves put on a good facade during the visit. Adoptive famiies are put through a long string of interviews and home visits. Amazing that went on for so long.
