Our current QB quit his mission. Most of the BYU greats did not serve missions. What is the big deal?

If he goes on a mission, fantastic. If not, hopefully he makes an impact.

If I were Stanley Havili, I wouldn't go right now, either.

Hopefully Kav will play right away. I can cheer for him on Sep 13 when the Luckeyes come to town.
How do you know that Max 'quit' his mission? Or was it something else?

You are saying all of this because you are a USC fan. So where does your loyalty lie, BYU or USC? Seriously.

I have never understood the violent emotions aroused in grown men over the decisions of 18-year-old boys.

Get a grip.

As we all know, any LDS male that chooses not to serve a mission is going to go to hell, and should be instantly ostracized from our society and banned from participating in temple ordinances.

Further, as we all know, no LDS kid who's ever played for a team besides BYU has ever served a mission.

BTW...my man-boobs hurt.

I don't care if kids serve a mission, just that they play for BYU.

I don't 'care' either way. I HOPE the kids choose BYU. I HOPE the kids make their decision based off prayerful pondering of the decision. I HOPE the LDS kids do well, stay strong, and maybe even leave lasting mustard-seeds in the hearts of people they're in contact with....

But I'm not going to whine, complain, or worry about the kids that choose USC over BYU. There's no point to it...ESPECIALLY when the kid will only be a MARGINAL improvement over the standard player we stick at that particular position. (Note - this is not a slight on UK, it's a compliment to the quality of LB we generally field).
