Alec Baldwin's rant at his "little girl"

Alec Baldwin overreacted. His word choice wasn't great, though I bet his daughter is a precocious little pistol who hears worse every day and wasn't or isn't scared of him. The biggest problem is that emotional outbursts don't work, and are usually counterproductive, especially in parenting precocious little brats. Still, my gut tells me that in this whole sordid story Kim Bassinger is the villain. I bet she's really manipulated that kid in unnatural ways to get back at her ex. I haven't followed the story closely;it's just a gut feeling. I did see the court has in the past held her in contempt of court.

I agree. She's the villain, if only for posting the phone message on the internet.

I saw the owner of the website that posted the audio on CNN this morning. He never said this, but my impression in listening to him was that the girl herself gave him the audio.

He was asked how he got it, and he said, "through perfectly legal means."

Then he was asked how he knew it was authentic, and he said "we got it through perfectly legal means, and we are certain of its authenticity." To tie the authenticity to the source of distribution just seemed to me to indicate that she gave it to him. He also said he had strong reason to believe that the girl wanted it posted.

I have no idea what you folks are talking about, but did he call from France?

I'll side with Kim without knowing what happened for two reasons:

1. Baldwin is not a person of his word. He promised to go live in France in 2000 if Bush was elected and never did.

2. I'd much rather look at Kim.

My opinion doesn't depend on who disclosed the tape. If the girl did it that just supports what I said. If she's this little innocent 11 year old and Kim is such a great mommy in control of her daghter (she's 11 for Pete's sake!) Kim needs to address the girl's naughty violation of the court order.

Eveyone is such hypocrites, not least of all, by any means, the press and the courts.

Alec Baldwin is terrific in his role on 30 Rock. I will not be found criticizing Jack Donaughy.

Baldwin is why I don't watch that show.

I will usually set aside political differences that I have with celebrities in the entertainment world and watch their tv shows or movies, but Baldwin is one of a handful that I have boycotted. It won't affect anything if I don't watch his show or movie, but I personally feel better about it.
