This has been a dark day for bball. On top of it, my bracket has blown up completely. Back to bike riding until football season.

The Jazz are getting beat by Vujacic. They're getting beat by Farmar. They're getting beat by Turiaf.
I can handle losing to Kobe, Gasol, and Bynum. These are players. But getting beat by the Lakers second team is just sad. |

Jazz didn't show up. Lakers did. Props to LA. Boos to the Jazz.

Tonight's game was a perfect example of why the Jazz won't advance past the 1st round this season, even if they do get homecourt advantage.
They don't play defense.

Triplet's getting into it with Jazz fans on CB. Cakes helping, of course, obviously Mondo showed.
Kinda makes me wish I was there. Surprised Triplet hasn't pulled out the "CHAMPIONSHIPS" smack yet. |

Ugh I wish I could shake this loss.
Timeline of my Jazz fanhood: -The Jazz are a pretty good team. In 1996 they make their first NBA Finals, sweeping the Lakers in the second round conference semifinals. Michael Jordan rips my heart out. -1997, the Jazz have a pretty good team. They make their second NBA finals, sweeping the Lakers in the conference finals. Michael Jordan rips my heart out. -Then Stockton and Malone get old and retire. The Lakers win three straight championships. Things are bad. -Shaq and Kobe can't get along, Shaq leaves, the Lakers can barely make the playoffs. The Jazz aren't any good, either. -Then in 2004 the Jazz get Boozer and Okur in free agency and draft Deron. Things are looking good. The Lakers are still the Kobe show, and though he carries them to the playoffs, he can't get past the Suns in the first round in 2006 and 2007. -In 2007, the Jazz make it to the WCF, where they're dismantled by the Spurs. -In 2008, the Lakers are magically rebuilt from their state of humility through Bynum's arrival as a legit NBA center and the thievery that brought Gasol to the team. The Jazz, though they have the same core as they did in 2007, look soft on the road and are inconsistent. I guess my main point is that it sucks to see the Jazz rise and fall short, then rise again and probably fall short again. Meanwhile, the Lakers have 38 championships and are poised to take at least one more in the next few years. I always laughed at my old roommate for being a Cubs fan. But I'm starting to see myself become one. |
