Default If Bateman is the new Apostle

I have to admit it will be entertaining to see this particular section of CG go into full on Ute like post UNLV meltdown mode on Saturday/Sunday.

I wouldn't worry too much. As long as the other 14 stay alive.

I would rather he be named an Apostle than my Stake President.

Actually I am just riding the bandwaggon here. I really don't have anything against President Bateman. I don't know why the angst over him.

I'm curious to know when the last time was that an apostle died, and it took more than one Conference cycle to sustain a new one.

Is it possible the Spirit just hasn't made up his mind yet. The brethern get together every week in the Temple and the spirit reveals to each one of them who is to be the next Apostle. They write it down on a piece of paper and turn it in. Never in history have they not all written down the same name.

Wait, I am think of how the prophet is chosen.

If it was Statman, I'd leave the church.

He would be perfect for an Apostle. He would have no trouble thinking his opinions were actually God's opinions.

My problems with him are more fundamental than that: his logic circuit has a serious short in it.

Would someone please explain to me why Bateman would be a problem? If I had more than a fan of the rival football team interest in BYU would I understand?
