Default Attaching dishwasher brackets to a granite countertop

Does anybody know what the cement / gunk is they use to attache the upper brackets of a dishwasher to the underside of a granite countertop? The brackets are meant to be screwed in but you obviously don't do that with granite. When I took the old dishwasher out there was some sort of cured gunk on there. Need to get some for the new dishwasher.

So apparently this is the "right" way to do it. But for $18 I'm down with finding some gunk.

Use the side mounting brackets.

I just finished this project. I mounted a piece of wood to the underside of the countertop, then mounted the dishwasher to that. I used brackets to attached the piece to the cabinet as well as Liquid Nails to attach to the underside of the countertop.

I know there is some kind of gunk out there, but couldn't find anything that would work.

Why use brackets?

Just make the space for the dishwasher ¼ inch too small on the sides and use a 16 pound sledge to get it into the space. I guarantee that it'll stay in place.

Ours has never been attached to the countertop. We just slide it out and back in when we need to get access.

Same here. What's the advantage of attaching? Seems like a headache every time the thing needs work.
