There are begining to be rumblings about Ratliff winning the #2 job from Clemens.

Kellen Clemens has gone from the favorite to win the job -- Chad Pennington was convinced the Jets wanted Clemens to be the starter -- to maybe getting beaten out by Brett Ratliff for the top backup role.

Ratliff, last year's practice-squad QB, simply has outplayed Clemens in camp and the preseason. Ratliff has completed 69.2 percent of his passes for an NFL-high 400 yards. His 119.6 passer rating leads all who qualify (minimum average of 14 attempts a game).

Clemens, meanwhile, is nine of 18 for 94 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions.

Sweet. Once Favre's arm gets tired, #2 Ratty will go in and resume hucking TD passes to LaTendresse and Ganther. (If the Jets wise up and make trades, of course).
