Go to Costco and buy the Barefoot Contessa cookbooks.

The lady has her own show on Food Network and her food is fantastic and actually quite easy to make.

She knows how to do good marinades for meats and she makes great deserts.

Personally, I like cooking quite a bit and I use her cookbooks probably 9 out of 10 times I do anything.
