τῇ ἐπαύριον βλέπει τὸν Ἰησοῦν ἐρχόμενον πρὸς αὐτόν καὶ λέγει ἴδε ὁ ἀμνὸς τοῦ θεοῦ ὁ αἴρων τὴν ἁμαρτίαν τοῦ κόσμου

Sorry for bad translation, but I read it as, 'and on the next day, John saw Jesus coming to him, and said, "Behold, He of God who will take away the sins of the world."'

For some reason, this image remains quite powerful and poignant for me. Simple, yet direct.
