Default "support us or else"

Went to my first Troop Committee meeting which consisted of me, YM's pres, and the cubmaster/Troop Committee Chairman.

Yes, the cubmaster and the Troop Committee Chairman are the same person. She also home school's her 3 kids, two of whom are autistic. I say this to make the point that she has a lot on her plate.

We have no 11 year old scouting leader. So the one or two 11 year old scouts are doing zip/nada.

Still no assistant scoutmasters. No money left in the budget.

We plan to hit up the Bishopric for more support (manpower). If that fails, I think we may propose doing away with our ward's scouting program, and just joining another wards troop that meets in the same building. On the premise that we do not have the critical mass to pull off a successful program. It may be what is best for the boys.

Amen... Have the bishop and stake president make the tough call. If they don't want to then do as you say you will...

Without parental involvement, the program is probably doomed from the get-go, regardless of who the Bishop gets in there to help you.

See if you can't get all 4 boy's parents to the next meeting. We had Nazi committee leader guy in there when I was in young mens. While nobody really liked him, he ran a tight ship, the parents showed up for meetings and the program ran pretty well.
