Default Good soccer take by oxcoug

I'm a soccer guy. I really would like to see it catch on more in US and see us develop some better players. I hate soccer pussies who have blinders on when they look at the sport and are over sensitive about criticism of the sport.

Oxcoug is exactly right in this take. Soccer is totally vulnerable to a bad officiating deciding a game--moreso than any other sport BY FAR. Soccer pussies like Glen Gulia in this thread cause the sport more harm than good in America. Call a spade a spade. Soccer is big enough to stand on its own.

PS nobody needs updates of a game between Russia and Spain.

I'm not really into soccer. But my big question is why does the RSL stadium in Sandy look like a roller coaster? Thats what I thought it was when I first drove by it.

I think it looks kinda cool. Reminds me of the new Broncos stadium.

The fatal flaw of soccer is that the average number of goals is soooooo low that all it takes is just ONE bad call or ONE fluke play to decide a game.

Agree that's one of the flaws.

Ideal scoring is about 5-8 per game. NFL and MLB has it about perfect.

The whole concept of soccer is boring. A two year old can kick a round ball. What's fun about watching that?

I used to mock soccer until I spent time in Italy. Watching players stand about 50 meters apart and do their thing then pass the ball to the other with the ball never touching the ground was, for me, amazing.

I'd rather watch Premier League or Serie A soccer than the NBA.

Oh, the level of skill can be truly amazing, but when you only have 1 to 3 goals per game, it's just too susceptible to fluke plays and/or bad officiating.
