Default Perhaps Mike's disillusionment

strikes me now and then.

Every so often I allow myself to delude myself into believing BYU can and will step, at least momentarily, into a bigger stage and win. Of course, then we fall flat on our faces, as we did against MSU.

We're really, the not-quite-ready-for-prime-time players.

Uh... We beat Louisville. They were ranked #6 at the time, as I recall.

So you like losing constantly when it matters?

BYU won't be big time, unfortunately because we don't have the athletes. We are offstage and apparently, always that way, even though we have our best or second best big man ever. That is a sorry statement.

Of course, our Achilles' Heel, lack of good guards, did us in.

It wasn't our lack of good guards....it was our lack of boxing out on the boards. If we box out and rebound....we win. Simple as that. Even with JT having a bad game.

Arch, you are the biggest pussywhiner I know when it comes to BYU sports.

Just admit you enjoy being miserable.

If we win a NCAA Tourney game or two...you'll still whine like a baby. Stop watching.

Well I couldn't see it, but I saw on the gametracker a time when Murdock turned it over at a critical time, when it was a one point game.

You are now coming to this realization? After how many years?

What were you thinking all these other years? That BYU was big time?

There is this great mountain biking bumper sticker that you see now and then in Utah. It says: "New York London Paris Moab" It has since expanded to include Tokyo, but the old ones only had 4 cities listed on it.

That bumper sticker is how I view myopic BYU fans thinking that BYU is "big-time." Placing us in the same sentence as the big boys is like that easy SAT question prompting you to identify the one thing that does not belong in the group....

USC Nebraska Florida Michigan Miami Texas Notre Dame Ohio State BYU.

Your words (with my emphasis):

I think the Louisville win qualifies for what you described.
