Default caving...

on my mission in Micronesia, my companion and I were out and about one day and came across this little mud cave thing. The whole thing was like a bank and there was a hole that was maybe 3 feet by 2 feet. My companion, from Vernal, wanted to go in. I begged him not to. I pleaded with him. He would not be dissuaded. He crawled in and that minute or two seemed VERY long. I was sure it was going to collapse or something. And then he crawled right out, was fine, and it was over.

Reminds of another time in December a friend and me went to Rock Canyon. He brought his climbing gear. He wanted to rappell off this thing, but I decided I would not climb to the top as the ledges were covered in snow and ice. He called me a wuss. Later he was seriously hurt in a climbing incident.

Some may call me boring, or that I will never live as fully as these gentelmen. I guess I'll take that chance.

I'm with you Mike

You see those shirts and stickers that say "No Fear!" I live by the motto "Know Fear". Not that I live my life too sheltered, but I don't take uncalculated risks. I listen to that inner voice that says "this is stupid and not worth it."

Working in a hospital has rid me of any desires to become an adrenaline junkie.

I'm glad that they had the picture at the bottom; I was having trouble envisioning the whole thing.
