There's an 80% chance BYU will not go undefeated.

But still, that's the reality we face. Being undefeated is not enough to even play a high caliber bowl, much less get into the 4-team playoff.

Actually, I believe if BYU went undefeated, it would likely be denied a playoff spot based upon SOS. However, I believe it would be picked up in one of the other big bowls.

I saw a web piece that said the same thing as you. That BYU can qualify for a top bowl if undefeated. That's good news.

But let's not get ahead of ourselves. We are the resident pessimists. Chances are we will not go undefeated.

We'll lose a game to garbage like Utah State and dream of what could have been.

I am as realistic as you. Any one of several games could torpedo BYU's season, including Houston, Virginia, Utah State, Boise, Nevada or Cal. However, the team seems level headed with enough experienced, depth and talent to weather most storms. Thirty years later, it's about time to have another remarkable season.

Seems like the defense should be solid. But then again they gave up 40+ to Houston last year.

As long as Taysom plays well, and the OL can at least hold serve, we should do pretty well.

And if Taysom stays healthy. Big if.

If there is a cosmic sense of justice, then BYU is due. Utah had 2004 and 2008. It's about time for BYU. BYU has paid its dues in the trenches now.

IFF Taysom stays healthy, then BYU's run can be beautiful.
