Default thoughts on increasing wattage

I'm only doing about three rides a weak but no intervals. Do you guys agree with these comments above?

If 165-170 watts is all he is generating it's no wonder he is looking to increase it.

Sometimes for five or six hours, that's all I can muster for an average, though I try to average 200 to 220 most of the time. Up a hill I average about 250 to 300.
