Default Blacks and the Priesthood

I was in Sunday School yesterday and this was part of the lesson agenda that the teacher brought up. Nowhere in the discussion did any of the points of the new official LDS essay come up. Never was it mentioned that JS had ordained at least one black man. Never was it mentioned that all the reasons shared in the past for the practice were false.

Later on I did talk about a thing tangential to this. Raised my hand to correct what I felt like were some false impressions shared by others on the role of a prophet.

I have to be honest. I really don't like Sunday School. And I don't attend very often. But I think I ought to repent of that and attend so that once in a while my point of view can be heard. If I don't say it, no one will.

There wasn't really a moment to jump in on the blacks and the priesthood thing, or I would have said something. But I also have to admit that my interest and desire to really do anything about this kind of thing is waning. Low morale.
