Default Mormons that live in Utah are different

I think demographic data is showing this now.

Mormons in Utah = people living in Utah.

Mormons outside of Utah area = religious adherents to Mormonism, a small minority

Social costs of being Mormon in Utah. Net positive.

Social costs of being Mormon outside of Utah area. Net negative. That is, there are significant costs.

And then in Europe and Japan, even more costs.

We call Utah the bubble. And we are kind of joking, kind of not. But maybe it REALLY is a bubble. And we should be interpreting the statements the church makes from the perspective of that bubble.

Sunday Sabbath observance. Utah bubble. What they are seeing in Utah.

Outside of Utah we've always had pressures pulling us into recreation and work on Sunday. But it's new to Utah.
