Default Three "replacements" made to the Presidency of the Seventy

http://www.lds.org/portal/site/LDSOr...00176f620a____

Richard Oaks, Merril J. Bateman, and Charles Didier are being replaced by Elder Quentin L. Cook, Elder Claudio R. M. Costa, and Elder Steven E. Snow.

Where did that come from? There's only one vacancy in the twelve. And what happens to the recently replaced?

This happens regularly. The members of the presidency of the 70 then go back to simply serving as a full-time member of the first quorum or they are given emeritus status.

Not sure on the other two, but I believe Didier is over 70, so at least he would likely be given emeritus status.

They've seen him at his administrative best while at the BYU.

If they put him in, there will be no doubt but that it was an inspired call.

I'm sure they think he was a success at BYU. He lessened academic freedom, purged the infidels, and raised boat loads of cash.

Don't forget the plagiarism in his first speech.

don't send a candy bar salesman to do a university president's job.

that's why I don't get too upset about that.
