Here's the thing: the most offensive things about the Beck talked were not what was said, but what was implied.

What offends Tex and Indy about this petition/statement is not what is said, but what is implied.

Very clever turnaround if you ask me. Beck rebuked a lot of women by implication, and these women are rebuking Beck by implication.

Frankly I think Beck served up something she thought would please the brethren, I don't think she put much serious thought into her talk. Her intended audience was not the sisters of the church.

actually I didn't get too worked up about it. I long ago absorbed the intended lesson that the women of the church, and specifically women in general conference, are not to be paid attention to, that they are sideshows of no consequence. They send up a sing-song sister who speaks in fake voice, and my mind is in a far away la-la land. It's really shameful that they have done this.

I teased about Beck on CB. Nothing that could get me suspended. But I think my teasing is what led Jefe to ban me. He realized, finally, he couldn't actually make rules that would silence me, so he would have to act as dictator. Which is fine. His board. I'm gone.

I'm awaiting a public reprimand from the outraged majority of LDS men that don't suffer from problems with pornography, demanding that President Hinckley stop creating the impression that all LDS men are guilty of such offenses.

What I found humorous was over on cougarboard posters are already coming out saying they know a woman who signed and she is inactive or is an ex-mormon.

What are the odds someone will risk getting suspended from the board and say they know someone who signed the petition that is active.

Well I know a daughter of a general authority who signed it. Spread that rumor, and she's active, but a Ute graduate.
