I dont need to. I've told them that truthfully, if they have a legit shot at collegiate or pro sports, then they need to be realistic about what serving a mission will do to those chances. truthfully, missions really hurt your pro chances, so if someone is really good, it would be a huge mistake to go on a mission, imo.

not surprisingly, I didnt have to spend much time convincing the priests of this point.

I agree that missions hurt chances at playing a professional sport, but they don't really hurt the chance to play on the college level.

I think it is wrong to force kids to go on missions, so I wore a button that said Missions were Optional. Truthfully, they are, as nothing happens to you if you don't go.

Where do you get these buttons? I can't find them anywhere. Do you make the flair yourself? If so, could you send me a price list. I would like to buy a button. I won't wear it to church, but I will save it for when I have the missfortune of walking into a TGI Friday's.

I make them myself and sell them online in 5 packs:

1. Missions are OPTIONAL
2. Enemy of Scouting
3. Dont Ask Me, I'm Released!
4. Yes, my Ox is in the Mire
5. Bishoprics Do It in groups of 3
