Yes, but last I heard, Video had skipped bail and is still on the run.

No shame there, she had an amazing voice.

A lot of good artists mentioned already, but I'll name another one for jazz.

Clifford Brown

Norah Jones went to the performing arts high school here in Dallas. I do hear that she does not put on an exciting big concert (I've never been) but I love her voice. She might be more suited for intimate settings.

One name I would throw out there would be Denny Wilson. Now I know what you're thinking...a drummer from a surf band? Whaaaat?

I think one has to wonder if Brian Wilson would've fallen so far off the deep end had he not lost his brother at such an early age...maybe he still would have. Regardless, Brian Wilson is one of the great musical minds of his time matching harmonies and aranging them the way that he did...it is actually surprising that with all the problems he had, he didn't die young.

I'm just glad nobody said Hendrix.

Barbara is thinking of one of the following:

Biggie Smalls (aka Notorious B.I.G.)
Kurt Cobain
Freddie Mercury
Michael Huchence, or
Bon Scott

I guess no one is reading my posts (which doesn't surprise me, given how carefully I type). I mentioned Jimi on the second page saying it would be hard to ignore him for rock/pop. How can you not htink of Jimi H for a question like this? Please defend excluding him from consideration. I don't think you can.
