Well, if she can get out of the crib by herself, then there is not much point in keeping her in a crib. We went straight for the twin bed with our son for practical reasons. We never used a rail. He's fallen out a couple of times. So far, no permanent damage.

Our ddd's turn 3 today. They are all still in their cribs and have no issues.

I am going to keep them in there until forced to upgrade. The day one gets a bed, they will all want one, so I need to save up for a few years to afford the 3 beds at once. This may be a job for Ikea-Man......

I say, if they are not climbing out of their cribs, let it be. Once they have the freedom of a bed, naptime and bedtime are never the same again.

We are the same way. I don't get what the rush is of getting them into a bigger bed. They still have plenty of room in the cribs. Their cribs are pretty large, actually.

If they are willing to stay in them through the 6th grade, that would really work best for us.
