While he and Brigham Young both have beards, I want to state that I believe both of them would be clean shaven now.

I find it a little odd that a lot of the early church leaders had beards, but Joseph Smith didn't. I am trying to remember the first vision picture. Do God and Jesus have beards?

I'm a direct descendant of Thomas E. Ricks, via wife #2.

Rexburg was also named for Ricks. I guess Ricks and Rex were somewhat interchangeable back then, since people weren't so compulsive about spelling in those days.
