Default 11:1 ratio in Landis

Landis, Landis, Landis. You let us down man.

I'm not hopeful at this point. I think he's history.

Of course some years ago Santiago Botero was given exemption for a 25 to 1 ratio supposedly on the grounds that it was a natural condition (his doctor was fuentes, however).

I think the more damning information is the report that somne fo the testorone tested as exogenous, meaning it did nto roginate inside Landis' body. Whatever the ration, if it came from a synthetic source, it was illegal.

My faith in Floyd is also waning. OTOH, if some is exogenous, why would he and his attorney publcily set up a defense that could so readily be disproven?

The whole thing disappotints me. Floyd may have cheated, LA is a jerk, and Lemond is a bitter old fart. The american heroes of cycling ain't.

Personally I'm holding on to hope for a while. The steroid thing just doesn't make sense. Unless he pulled the "tea bag" trick I can't think of a reason why he would be taking roids in the middle of the TdF. It just seems so freaking stupid.

Now you have Gatlin, the worlds fastest man, testing positive for elevated testosterone as well. Is it some new performance trick? I say, if the NYT story is correct and some of Landis' testosterone is exogenous, that before the end of the week Landis is claiming sabotage.

Edit: Found an article about testosterone and cycling that was semi-interesting:

I was feeling bad about not following the tour closely this year. I don't feel so bad now.
