Default Pelosi embarrasses me.

She's been more interested in scoring political points by blaming Republicans than actually doing what got her and her party elected in 2006.

I can't believe she's proud of getting 60% of Dems to vote for the bill when it wasn't enough.

Between Bush/Cheney and Pelosi, it's clear Washington needs new leadership in the worst way.

I'm not a huge fan of Pelosi, but the Republican excuse that her partisan speech made it fail sounds pretty ridiculous.

"She said some mean things, so we shot it down"

Shame on Pelosi for ill-timed remarks, but what a flimsy excuse.

Shame on you democrats, who supposedly support the little guy, and supported and continue to support a bailout of people who invested in mortgage derivatives.

You are stupid and foolish.

Boehner's the one who said that, but several have come out since then and said it made no difference to their votes. Hard to know how many it really affected, but since we're only talking about 12 (out of 435), seems like an extremely foolish thing for Pelosi to do.

Yeah, yeah... but when the reckoning comes on this one, the Pelosi excuse is mighty weak.

If economy melts down - "it was that Nancy Pelosi! I was going to vote for the bailout until she pissed me off".

If economy does fine with no bailout - "I came to my senses when Nancy spoke, thank goodness."

You sound surprised that either party would play politics here.

Bottom line is that the Dems did it to themselves. When they don't need any help from even a single Republican and their foolish meddling in the market is foiled, they can only blame themselves.
