It has absolutely nothing to do with tree-hugging or socialism. What exactly don't you understand about it? The American government is doomed to fail eventually as all governments do, but I'd like to think that the human race can endure against all odds if we are smart enough not to destroy ourselves and each other. I find an international perspective more useful in this regard than petty nationalism. Apparently this isn't a popular view around here. Why?
