Why do you accept the concept of infinity in the first place? Why do you even waste your time with Scientific American? Do you actually mean that empiricism can't provide you any quick, easy, fairybook, and finite answers? Or do you really not believe in objective truth at all, as you have suggested?

Empiricism is a valuable method, nothing more, nothing less. It's not my God, but it's a valuable outlook on life. Without it, my episteme would be vastly different.

Do you not see the irony in your statement; your desire to force a conclusion, codify, to box and label and put away? "this" being one of many examples.

And the VERY moment your expertly crafted intellectual world is challenged you denigrate the source. Methinks you doth protest too much.

In your world Scientific Amercian deserves as much disdain as FARMS? You are begining to sound more like a postmodernist every day. Maybe with a little more time in the pacific northwest will prove to increase you Marxist tendencies ... after all you do choose to live there
