Actually, Holder must be getting a kickback from the arms industry, because it has already been super-crazy, and now the run on guns, magazines, and ammo is only going to get worse (if possible).

Gun stores empty, gun shows with crazy prices, walmart with bare shelves of ammo, 6 month waiting lists on AR-15s, high-cap magazines out of stock all over the country. It's a bonanza for the arms companies.

Not to mention expansion of war in Afghanistan.
You sound angry. Good thing there is a waiting period.

Will an assault weapons band prevent criminals from getting such weapons?

Felons are not permitted to buy or own guns legally as it is.

To say that we must have laws that will prevent a single criminal from obtaining a gun is kind of like saying we must not prosecute anyone as long as we are and have convicted innocent people.

Of course there is and always will be a blackmarket for guns.

Agreed. I was looking for Cali's take on that.

BTW......I have a great relationship with the local WalMart sporting goods and they let me know when new ammo is coming. There's always a line.

There's also a good place here for 30 round AR15 magazines for only $17 each.

John Lott on "AWB II - the Obama version".

Lott is arguably the most influential social scientist on gun control EVER.

Prevent it in an absolute sense? Of course not. But when has that ever been a requirement for a law? Does a law against murder prevent murder? Does a law against speeding prevent speeding? Don't be silly.

What other rights can we take away from Americans to help the Mexican government?

There are many. And they will try to take them.

Since they no longer have that OBL boogey-man shit, they will make up a new boogey-man to strip us of our liberties.

You never had a constitutionally protected right to assault weapons. You were permitted to own them subject to rules put in place by the government, but you never had a constitutionally protected right to them. You still don't.

Seriously. I'm scared. I don't want an assault weapon in that angry man's hands. I give Waters six months before he joins an Idaho compound of gun wingnuts and prepares for Armeggedon (i.e., a ban on assault weapons, which will herald the last days and the coming of the Lord).

Link?

The 2nd Amendment doesn't qualify what arms are.
