Will an assault weapons band prevent criminals from getting such weapons?

To say that we must have laws that will prevent a single criminal from obtaining a gun is kind of like saying we must not prosecute anyone as long as we are and have convicted innocent people. Of course there is and always will be a blackmarket for guns. |

BTW......I have a great relationship with the local WalMart sporting goods and they let me know when new ammo is coming. There's always a line. There's also a good place here for 30 round AR15 magazines for only $17 each.

Prevent it in an absolute sense? Of course not. But when has that ever been a requirement for a law? Does a law against murder prevent murder? Does a law against speeding prevent speeding? Don't be silly.

There are many. And they will try to take them. Since they no longer have that OBL boogey-man shit, they will make up a new boogey-man to strip us of our liberties. |

You never had a constitutionally protected right to assault weapons. You were permitted to own them subject to rules put in place by the government, but you never had a constitutionally protected right to them. You still don't.

Seriously. I'm scared. I don't want an assault weapon in that angry man's hands. I give Waters six months before he joins an Idaho compound of gun wingnuts and prepares for Armeggedon (i.e., a ban on assault weapons, which will herald the last days and the coming of the Lord).
