With the coming of fall, it's finally cool enough to do some serious yard work. The previous owners didn't mind a patch of cedar bushes getting 8 feet high. I guess they wanted to keep their carbon footprint low. But, we have plenty of trees in our yard and I kind of enjoy a C02 scent on the air, so, out they come. 4 pick up loads of brush to the dump later and I'm half way done. git 'r done.
Behind one of the big cedars is a couple of sheets of plywood. I was walking around on the plywood cutting down branches when I suddenly noticed a bunch of little flying bugs pouring out of a hole in the plywood. Soon, I noticed a buzzing sound, then a twinge of pain here and there. It took me a second or two but I finally realized I was engulfed in a cloud of yellow jackets. Doing a mighty jig, slapping my self with the saw I made it to the garage and closed the door. A few more hangers on were slain as I checked myself for attackers. Though covered with stings, my mellon was unscathed. Protected by my faded red, drum and feather U cap. Learn well young padawans.
